Have not had much luck on the Ribble, but have found the Lune to be fishing well for sea trout. Lots of fish splashing about and coming short to the fly. Had a 6lb fresh fish last month landed just after midnight on a dark night just from the rocks above the church pool, took a 2in tube fished figure of eight very slowly on sink tip line accross what was already a very slow river. Long treck but given good conditions is definately our best bet at the moment. Have been up there 3 times within last month and only landed the one fish but have lost fish on each visit and had lots of pulls and excitment as the fish have been crashing around the pools. please keep posting if any news of fish moving up our rivers happens…. thanks

went up to the lune last night, conditions were perfect, caught a small peal of just over a pound in the top pool, then lost a nice fish at the net as it jumped on a tight line in the next pool down. quite a lot of fish about showing in the pools. Landed and returned a big brown about midnight, then all went quiet…. Has anyone seen any fish on the Hodder? went up last week during the day, carrying a bit of colour, but nothing!!!

A new season!!! I have been on the Lune a few nights had my first fish at the end of April in the second pool down on a secret weapon, went up exactly a month later at the end of the month when the moon is barely showing, fished down once  with nothing, but swapped to floating lure and second pool down barely a rod length out bang a fresh 4 pounder at about 1.30am(my first on a floating lure.. maybe desperation won in the end !!). I have also had a couple ofsmall seatrout from Salmesbury in the day on the double hander in coloured water but no salmon… saw a big fish show at the tail of barn pool but with the wind could only manage to flick the fly into the back of my head!! Spent a few hours on the Hodder at plantation. had to park up the track due to a fence being  put accross the path and some very agressive cows being placed between me and the style down to the river in the evening but after running the battle of cows before even making it down to the car park I made it down to the river and fished into the dark before running the gauntlet back!! has anyone else had problems at plantation? please can other people post and let people know of fish movement up our rivers… It helps to give our new members confidence and helps us all to understand our rivers better.. tight lines

Matt
